How we work
We keep the venom for the reviews, not for how we work. This is what is behind every piece.
✍️ Who signs
Claqueta Ácida is an independent film criticism magazine. We sign with two pen names: Odin Lagbert, our horror and cult cinema expert, and Lúa Ácida, who never misses a new release or a series. We both write about everything. Our oldest reviews carry other newsroom signatures we no longer use.
🧠 How we write
We write with our own judgement. We rely on digital tools, including artificial intelligence, for research, editing and translation into English.
🎞️ Where the data comes from
Credits, cast, dates, posters and where to watch each film come from TMDB (The Movie Database). We check plots against Wikipedia.
🧪 What the score means
We score from 0 to 10. Below 5, Sulfuric Acid; from 5 to 7.5, Citric Acid; above 7.5, Nuclear Fusion.
🚫 Nobody buys a score
No studio, distributor or festival pays us for what we say. If we see a film thanks to a press accreditation, that does not change the review.
