Ending Explained: Night Passenger

💡 What does the ending really mean?

The young driver, realizing the invisible entity will never release him while he's alone in motion, lures an innocent stranger into his car under false pretenses, then accelerates away, deliberately passing the curse. The bloodied woman is freed; the new passenger begins convulsing as the nightmare claims him. The ending is a brutal indictment of disposable empathy and survivalist ethics: in extremis, modern man will always sacrifice another to save himself. The endless highway becomes an eternal flight from conscience, the passenger a moral debt that must eventually be paid by someone. Cold, filthy, and utterly without redemption.
