Ending Explained: "Who Lives by the Iron
Revenge as Bloody Poetry (and a Bit Clumsy)"
💡 What does the ending really mean?
Mario storms the narco’s mansion and methodically slaughters everyone responsible for annihilating his family, forcing the boss’s son to blow his own brains out. Mortally wounded, he finally stands before the elderly mastermind and shoots himself in the mouth, the gunshot ringing as both release and damnation. The ending is bloody, clumsy poetry: revenge never redeems or cleanses; it simply reproduces the same brutality that destroyed the hero. Mario does not win; he becomes the iron he hated, oxidized and lifeless. Plaza delivers a nihilistic punch where poetic justice is revealed as nothing more than a slow, self-inflicted suicide wearing an epic mask.
