The Eclipse of Dread

Ending explained of Verónica

💡 What does the ending really mean?

Verónica and her friends, trapped in the apartment during a total solar eclipse, are fully possessed by the demonic entity they summoned. As the eclipse peaks, the building plunges into darkness and chaos; the girls slaughter each other and the adults in a frenzy of violence and self-mutilation. Verónica, now the vessel, calmly walks out into the blood-soaked street as the light returns, smiling serenely while the city burns behind her. The ending symbolizes the irreversible triumph of ancient evil over fragile modernity: the eclipse is both literal and metaphorical, representing the final blotting out of reason, faith, and innocence. Verónica doesn't die a victim; she becomes the indifferent herald of a new, dread-filled order.
