💡 What does the ending really mean?

In the climax, Peter, possessed by the spirit of his grandmother's cult, leaps from a window in a trance after his mother Annie decapitates herself in mid-air during a ritual frenzy. The cult retrieves his body, crowns him as Paimon, and assembles the severed heads of his family members in a grotesque shrine inside their treehouse temple. The ending reveals the entire Graham family tragedy was engineered generational trauma to install the demon king Paimon into a suitable male vessel. Symbolically, it means hereditary evil isn't random misfortune but a meticulously crafted inheritance: your bloodline was never yours, grief was the grooming process, and the final family reunion is literal demonic possession dressed as transcendence. The boy band of floating heads isn't triumph, it's the ultimate punchline that love, therapy, and mourning were all just satanic foreplay.
