Leviticus

Adrian Chiarella’s *Leviticus* dissects the toxic intersection of adolescent desire and rural isolation, utilizing a supernatural entity not merely as a monster, but as a mirror for repressed trauma and unmet needs. By forcing two teenagers to confront a violent manifestation of their own deepest longings, the film transforms the horror genre into a psychological study of how fantasy can curdle into nightmare when stripped of context. The climax is not a triumphant exorcism but a visceral, agonizing reckoning, establishing a tone of bleak inevitability that suggests some appetites, once manifested, can only be devoured by their own weight.
